Walker Christian Forrester grew up in Loganville, Georgia, in Walton County east of Atlanta. Most people just call him Walker. This is a short overview from his family: where he comes from, what he learned, and what he cares about. The other articles on this site go deeper into each part.
Loganville roots
Walker started playing sports at four years old and kept going through his high school graduation. As a kid he played baseball, basketball, football and wrestling. In high school he played baseball and football. He kept his grades up the whole time and graduated with A's and B's as an honor student. There is more in his years in Loganville sports.
He also grew up in Vacation Bible School, church ministry, and outreach and charity projects at churches in Loganville and Snellville.
College and the Georgia Tech coding boot camp
After high school, Walker studied at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville. In 2018 he completed the Georgia Tech coding boot camp, and on December 13, 2018 he was awarded a Certificate of Program Completion in Full Stack Flex Web Development by Georgia Tech Professional Education.
The course covered complete web applications, from the pages people see in a browser to the servers and databases behind them. Among the projects he built were GrocerEasy, a team app that finds the nearest farmers markets and what they sell, and Awesome Places, his first React Native mobile app. His code from that time is public on GitHub. Work
Walker's past jobs ranged from web development to the trades. He worked as a web developer for VTech, his father's company, and also worked with Russell Hatcher Electric, Accurate Fence, Georgia Roofing and Arby's.
Music and games
Walker has made electronic and hip-hop music as a producer, audio engineer and singer. He grew up on PlayStation classics: Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, SOCOM, Uncharted and Call of Duty. Read about the music and the games he grew up with.
Fan, athlete, positive thinker
